Longtime RoadRunners Bill Indek and Chris Troyano participated in the NJ Senior Olympics Track & Field championships on Saturday, September 7, at Woodbridge High School. The event was held in a torrent of steady rain, but didn't stop these intrepid participants.
Chris was in the 70-74 age group and threw the discus @ 17.14 meters (roughly 56' 3"), earning him fourth place. As this was third for New Jersey throwers, Chris earned a bronze medal. Chris also ran the 800 meters in 4:09.7, fourth in his age group. Then he tossed a javelin 15.90 meters (roughly 52' 2"), to place sixth.
Bill was in the 75-79 age group. In the 100-meter run: Bill placed sixth with a time of 23.9 seconds. In the 50-meter run, he finished 4th in 12.0 seconds. As the second-place New Jersey finisher in that event, he earned a silver medal.
